Kokeshi: from toy to lamp

By  |  Comments

Kokeshi lamp designed by A+A Cooren design studio and manufactured by Vertigo Bird, is inspired by the Japanese traditional wooden toy. This beautifully considered object emits a smooth and comfortable light. It may stand by a bed, on a table, or on a cabinet. The head of Kokeshi glows with an intense light radiating from its face. The wooden body brings to mind the warm human touch of this traditional toy. A+A Cooren is a Paris-based French-Japanese design studio held by a couple, Aki & Arnaud Cooren. With a simple Japanese-Nordic design aesthetic, the studio seeks to integrate a subtle reference to nature into everyday objects and interiors.
